Website Updates for June 2007
ImageIts been a busy month with some major updates and upgrades to the site taking place. Each of the upgrades is intended to improve the site or make it more functional for our visitors and users. We have added new features and upgraded existing programming to make your experience a better one. If its not just send me as email and we will sort it out.

The improvements include:

Addition of a Blog

We have added a Blog section to the website to make it easier to view the articles and musings, in one place rather than spread around as they were before. You can try it out by Clicking Here

Addition of guest comments

We have added the ability for all guests to comment on articles and offer comments or questions in general. You will see the comment box appear below each article - its simple to complete and theres no need to register.

Addition of SEF URLs

We have changed the way our URLs, for the different site pages work, and now the URLs are easier to understand and hence easier to find in search engines and through the web. The new URLs are the actual page title rather then the numbering system we previously used.

Opening of an On-line Book and Gear Store

I am a firm believer in buying local and supporting local equipment suppliers but sometimes you just cannot get hold of gear or books in Thailand. It was with this in mind that we have added an online book and gear store to the website. The aim of the store is to provide information on specific pieces of kit I use, books I use and books that inspire me. I own and use all the items in the store and bought them myself overseas or through online retailers because they are either a) not available in Thailand or b) exorbitantly expensive in Thailand.

The store is partnered with Amazon so financial safety, service and peace of mind are guaranteed. You can try it out by Clicking Here

Upgrading of Online Galleries and Stock Image Library

We have gone through a major upgrade of our online stock library, thanks to Christian over at Gallery Menalto. The new stock library (which shows our whole collection of photos if you have not tried it out yet) is sleaker, meaner and more user freindly. We are now in the process of adding some further refinements such as a user commenting system. You can visit the updated galleries by Clicking Here

Latest Images Feature

After receiving a few requests about posting a gallery where our latest image additions could be seen without having to search through the whole online library we have added a new recent additions section to the library that will do just that. You can now click on "recent additions" whilst in the library or alternatively "latest images" on our homepage and you will be served up only the latest additions to the stock library. You can try it out by Clicking Here

Removal of Copyright Text on our Photographs

We have had a number of requests that the site would be a nicer resource to view if we did not have the textual copyright on each of the photographs in the stock image library. We have now implemented two now forms of copyright protection a) each image now has an embedded reference inside it's pixels that we are able to search throughout the web and b) coding changes to the library viewer have disabled the ability to directly copy the picture. These two changes now enable us to put up our latest photographs with no large copyright text over the image therefore making it much nicer to view. of course copyright still remains and we eagerly chase all copyright infringement through "ATTRIBUTOR".
